Hi 5B group! I miss you all and hope you are well! I look forward to seeing you at East as soon as it is safe to do so! In the meantime, let's try some distance learning.
I would like for you to try to spend a total of 1 hour a week total working on communication skills assignments. I will target your goals and more than likely over plan. Everyone works at their own speed, so please put in 1 hour total for the week and whatever you finish is fine. You can divide your time anyway you like. Work in the morning, afternoon or evening. Work for 10 minutes every day or a 1/2 an hour 2 times during the week-whatever works for you! You have the freedom to choose.
Distance Learning for the week of 4/6/20

You can click on the link below for a worksheet. You can print it out or write your answers on a separate sheet of paper. Make sure you put your name and date on it. You can take a picture and email your answers to me at [email protected] with your name as the subject. You can put a dash or and x if you don't know the answer.

2nd assignment:
Put your name and date at the top of a sheet of paper. Predict or guess what the following figurative expressions mean:
1. Get ahead: "Often, people give up time with their families to get ahead in life."
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
2. Control/hold the purse strings: "My wife is much better at managing our finances, so she controls the purse strings." _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
If you are not sure, take a guess. If you have no idea, you can write "IDK" :o) Then click on the link to Randall's Listening Lab, scroll down and review the meaning of the figurative expressions/idioms, then click play on the listening exercise. Please listen 1 or 2 times and try to write or type 6 facts. You can answer the questions and do the vocabulary practice if you like. Again, please write your answers on a separate sheet of paper. Make sure you put your name and date on it. You can take a picture and email your answers to me at [email protected] with your name as the subject. You can put a dash or and x if you don't know an answer.
